"In life it's not where you go. It's who you travel with"

When Nadine contacted me back in fall of 2021 and started asking about my services for her Jasper elopement I was SO excited to tell her and Mark all about the many advantages of having a local photographer accompany them for their Canadian destination elopement. I am such a huge fan of elopements, if I ever tire of being forever engaged (haha) this is exactly how I can imagine my own amazing wedding day. Eloping is about taking the most important bits and pieces of a wedding, like the GETTING MARRIED part, and creating a unique and personalized experience around it that genuinely represents YOU as a couple. And Nadine and Mark did just that. It was intimate and romantic, and focused on just them as a couple celebrating their love for one another.

We began the day at the Miette hot springs where Nadine and Mark had this adorable little cabin reserved for their stay. While Nadine slipped into her STUNNING custom wedding gown by Mon Reve Closet in Edmonton Ab. I got Mark in place for their first look. After these two love birds had shared a few moments together simply taking each other in it was time to head to the location they'd arranged to meet with their officiant and to begin the hike to their chosen ceremony location! Once the team for the day was all there we started up a little pathway alongside a beautiful mountain stream towards the main source for the hot springs. Our hike took us into the forest and through the very cool historic ruins of the original Miette hot springs bathhouse.

Many years before the modern pool you visit today, this long abandoned site was the main attraction. The Miette Aquacourt as it was called, was built in 1983 as part of a depression-era worker relief program and was used actively until 1984. The original pools were closed due to rockslides in the narrow canyon leading up to them, and construction of the more modern bathhouse that stands today began. The old swimming pool has since been filled and is slowly being taken over by the surrounding forests. I highly recommend making the hike if you are ever visiting the hot springs!

Our journey did not end here though. We continued up the pathway along Sulphur Creek to a magical little spot in the trees. And it was here, surrounded by the mountains and forests of the incredible Canadian Rockies, that Nadine and Mark shared the vows they had written for one another, and began the ultimate adventure together as husband and wife. After a beautiful and intimate ceremony in the forest beside the creek we said goodbye to their officiant Laura and her partner. The three of us then continued up the pathway and explored the area a little more before heading back down to take a break for a romantic picnic dinner in a cute little mountainside spot near their cabin. I left the newly weds to enjoy their meal and ventured off to the next photo location Nadine and Mark had chosen. A short while later we met back up at the incredibly picturesque Pyramid Lake where we spent the remainder of the day exploring, dancing, and soaking in the world class scenery around us.

I am so very grateful to have been the one to document your beautiful love story Nadine and Mark, thank you so much for sharing the beginning of your happily ever after with me. Cheers to you both and the countless years of happiness ahead of you ❤🥂🏞
